About Us

Mbawula Youth Film Festival is a free-to-public, progressive and inclusive film festival created by Awakening Creative Project. The festival seeks to bridge the gap between education and entertainment through the artistic medium of film.

The core philosophy of MYFF lies in it being a storytelling initiative designed to nurture and give space to amateur and professional filmmakers to showcase their work.

Over the past four years, we have hosted three successful four-day, fun-filled programmes that have spread across venues and regions in the Northern Cape, giving a platform to filmmakers from across the province.
